Minx, on the second floor, is decorated in ocean and seaglass colors, has a comfortable queen-size bed, the largest bathroom in the Inn, and beautiful views over the River and the City of Portsmouth.
Royal George is the blue and yellow room on the third floor that looks out to the Harbor, and then out to the Sea. There is a comfortable sitting area with rattan chairs and table, and, uniquely, a signed and dated self portrait of the builder, George Trefethen, pencilled on the inside of the roof. This room is furnished with a king-sized sleigh bed to go with its water views and a deep soaking claw foot tub/European hand held shower combination.
Alice, a cozy room under the eaves on the third floor, is painted in a soft green tint, and is furnished with a wicker dresser, chair, antique armoire, and two nightstands. Alice looks over the river, to Badger Island and Portsmouth, and offers a queen-size bed and a deep soaking claw-foot tub with a European hand-held shower.
Dido is possibly the most charming and quietest room in the house. On the second floor, and decorated with delicate vining and floral wallpaper in soft pastel tones, white hemstitched curtains, a hooked Claire Murray rug, and a writing desk and comfortable chair, Dido looks Northward, out over the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and inland, with views of our beautiful shade garden. It may be set up either as two twin beds, or one king-size bed.
Valora is the inn's romantic red room. Nestled in a cozy corner on the second floor, Valora is furnished with a queen size bed and antique décor in both the room and the bathroom, and provides great water views over Portsmouth Harbor and the city of Portsmouth from both windows.
