2018 is the 35th anniversary of Maine Maple Sunday, a state-wide celebration of this "always pure, always natural" product of the Great State of Maine. There are sixteen sugaring operations within an hour's drive from the Inn open and welcoming on Maine Maple Sunday, all featuring tastings of their delicious syrups and confections. Some also offer sugarbush tours, live music, all-day pancakes, and other activities. You can learn about the age old process, coupled with modern methods, of maple sugaring in Maine today.
You can find out where and when to enjoy this unique experience at each of the sugaring producers at Maine Maple Sunday.
Some producers are open on Saturday, March 24, with additional activities like wildlife encounters. The Axe Women Loggers of Maine will be at Hilltop Boilers in Newfield on Saturday - check out their skills at Axe Women Loggers of Maine.
New Hampshire is also celebrating maple syrup this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. Many local producers will be offering free samples of fresh syrup, maple candies and confections, coffee and doughnuts. Some locations have pancake breakfasts, petting farms or horse-drawn rides. You can find the local producers at New Hampshire Maple Producers.
